The start.
The point of starting this blog was to put my experience down in black and white for my reference. However, additionally, I realise that this could be a handy tool for the new and upcoming people in the engineering industry - especially the budding instrumentation talent we have in Bharat - our great country . The engineering industry is a highly significant one and has flourished over the years. Many iconic structures, process plants, infrastructure, monuments have been built where the services of such 'agencies' or 'Engineers' have been utilized. For instance, the iconic Hoover dam was built employing the services of 8-9 engineering agencies. Likewise the two petronas towers were built / engineered by two independent engineering companies. The bandra worli sea link was done by an Indian engineering and construction company. If we go down into history, the pyramids of giza, the madurai meenakshi temples, macchu picchu, the ajanta and Ellora temples, have all been engineered by persons whose names are now lost in the flow of time.
I have not really figured how I will go ahead with this blog. But I have an idea that alongwith my own experiences, there are likely to be some knowledge based write ups, presentations and maybe even some interviews. Lets see how it goes. See you then in Chapter 1.
“As engineers, we were going to be in a position to change the world – not just study it.”—Henry Petroski, American engineer and author specializing in failure analysis
